Parametric reduced order models for output-only vibration-based crack detection in shell structures

In this work parametric reduced order models (pROMs) for cracked shells are developed and applied to crack detection problems. Mesh morphing is employed allow parameterization of the with respect location size, while a clustering approach adopted partition parameter space in sub-domains, which efficient local (ROMs) constructed. Subsequently, proposed ROMs as forward simulators within an inverse problem setting, aiming identify fault (crack). An output-only scheme adopted, absence information regarding loading time history, based on transmissibility functions. The resulting tested through numerical examples involving realistic geometries, consisting curved or multiple components.
